Hello everyone and welcome to first grade! I am Miss Zimmerman. This will be my second year teaching at Lake Ridge Elementary and my third year teaching first grade. I have taught in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. I am originally from Pennsylvania (about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh). I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with a dual certification in early childhood education and special education with a concentration in Urban Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). I have a younger sister and an older brother. My favorite color is lime green and you will see a lot of lime green when you come to our classroom! Some of my other favorites include exercising, going out to eat, and reading. I love reading Junie B. Jones to my students so get ready for some silly stories!
Please remember to check our Class Dojo page on a regular basis for class updates, assignments, and other relative information. Please continue to check your student's Blue Folder each night as well, As always, feel free to contact me anytime via email or Class Dojo.
Parents, please remember our attendance line is available at all hours to call and report your child's absence. The number is 571-492-3739. PWCS regulation (724-1) states that to excuse an absence the school must be notified in either writing or through a phone call. Thank you!

We hope to see you tonight at our first STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) night here at LRES.
Be sure to arrive at 5:30 pm so your children can pick the stations they will be visiting.
The evening will then start at 6:00 pm with a School Resource Officer (PWC policeman) talking to both parents and students about cyberbullying.
Students will then be rotating through three stations for the remainder of the evening. Rotations will then begin at 6:35 pm and the evening will end at 7:30 pm. We all look forward to seeing you there!
