Welcome to our class webpage! My name is Mrs. Goff. Born and raised in Indianapolis, I studied Environmental Management and Criminal Justice at Indiana University. I earned my bachelors degree in 2004 and continued on to graduate school where I earned my teaching license. In December of 2011, I completed my Masters through IU, as well. This is my twelfth year at Lake Ridge Elementary School. I have gone back and forth from third grade and second grade many times, and I am thrilled to be teaching second this year!
My classroom is a place of hands-on, inquiry-based learning, and I hope if you were to ask my students what they did during school today, they would tell you they had a lot of fun while learning a lot of cool information!
"Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand."
As some of you already know, I am carrying a baby for a friend of mine and will therefore be going out on maternity leave on or around Monday, September 19. Because the baby is not mine, I will not be gone for the standard time. However, I do anticipate having Mrs. French, one of our wonderful and experienced LRES substitutes, in for me for approximately four weeks.
Back to School Night for grades K-2 will be held on Monday,September 26 from 6:45-8pm. I have worked closely with the second grade team so that you will be getting all of the same information you would if I were here myself. I will be dividing our class’ parents up into the other three second grade classrooms, and you will therefore still hear the PowerPoint that I have created with my team.
I appreciate your support in this matter, and I look forward to personally meeting with all of you during conferences in early November.
