Bienvenue à la classe française! Welcome to French class!
Thank you so much to all LRES parents who have volunteered to make King Cakes the first week after Winter Break. I will send a reminder with the recipe when we return from break, but the recipe can also be found on the main French program page and on my page under Files and Documents.
We are having fun practicing gestures to correspond with French words, which help us to understand the French we are learning. Once we cross the magic line into the French classroom, we speak only French! The students have been doing a fabulous job of speaking only French, and get to clip up on Class Dojo when they do so.
We are reviewing family member vocabulary. We are practicing asking and answering questions in full sentences and are working with partners to review new vocabulary.
Multicultural Day will be held during the school day on December 16. Students are invited to wear clothing to school that day from other cultures. Students will sing songs from around the world in an assembly. Performance times are listed on the front page of the LRES website, and are in the December Lion's Den newsletter.
On January 5-6, we will learn about la fête des rois (Kings' Day) and we will taste la galette des rois (Kings' Cake).
