Arrivals and Dismissal Procedures

School doors open at 9:10 AM and school starts at 9:20 AM. If you drive or walk your student to school, you must remain with your student until the doors are open. Staff are not on duty outside before 9:10 AM.

Walkers enter/exit through Door 11. Kindergarten students will exit through Door 12, please come down and show your photo ID to the teacher.

Drop off is located at the lower parking lot by Doors 18 and 19. Pick up is located at the upper parking lot by door 6. To obtain a car rider number, parents must come to the main office and present a photo ID to sign out a car rider number. ALL Pre-K students will only be dismissed through Door 1, our main entrance. If parents wish to pick up their Pre-K student, they must park and walk up to door 1 with ID ready. Thank you!

Kindergarten Walkers

If your child is a walker and exits via the Hedges Run steps you must come down to Door 12 and show your photo ID to the teacher.

Kindergarten and Pre-K Bus Riders

You, or a designated person, must meet your Kindergarten student at the bus stop following dismissal with a photo ID. Children will be brought back to the school if there is no authorized person at the bus stop with their photo ID. If your kindergartner gets brought back to school, it will be your responsibility to come and pick your child up at Lake Ridge Elementary School. If the Kindergarten Transportation Authorization Form needs to be updated at any time, please contact the main office at 703-494-9153.
